Labor of Loyalty(?)

Today’s Labor Day in the United States. I was supposed to be off work today, but because someone was sent home sick today — I was called in to work. I figured that would happen because they were sick yesterday and deduced they would either not show up today or be sent home. I already offered yesterday to work if they needed me.

So I finished lunch with Mom and Steven; Steven had to drive us home from lunch as I forgot my wallet at home and didn’t want to take a chance of driving home without my license. Just as we pulled in to the driveway I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pulled it out and sure enough there was a text message from my manager. She asked if there was anyway I could come in and work today until about 6:00 p.m. Of course, I said yes and decided that as soon as I’d change into my work uniform I’d be up there. I arrived up there sometime around 2:30 p.m.

I don’t know if this was a labor of loyalty or just selfishness/greed because I need money due to some new expenses that have come up (and I’m not getting into right now).

Only a couple other things to talk about since I’ve been gone for so long. One: that earthquake that everyone’s been talking about that hit in northern Oklahoma had aftershocks that hit in my neighborhood. Yes, I felt them and was actually getting ready for work when it hit at home (September 3). Two: I don’t know how regularly I’ll be posting as I’m working even more than normal.

Sadly, I don’t have much else to report except that a week from tomorrow is my endocrinologist appointment and I’m not looking forward to it, but I’ll certainly want prayers and positive vibes sent my way. I appreciate it; I’ll also try to report back when I get my results.

Not much else to report. Talk to you guys again soon…I hope!

Love and prayers, as always! ❤

About Christy

I enjoy: my family, my faith life, photography, drawing; writing, working on cars, basketball, football, and baseball. These are just a few of the many things I like...you'll just have to read my blog to know me better to know more of them. Other things you may not catch on that I enjoy are: cats, angels, ballroom dancing, Christian music, camping (being one with nature and all of God's creations), traveling, cherry and apple blossoms, and the colors blue (in all shades), white, black, dark purple, and SOME shades of pink. (Rainbows are cool, too. And I'm NOT a lesbian! Although, I'm friends with some gays and lesbians as well as a few transgenders.) I am Roman Catholic. I graduated from Johnson County Community College, where I majored in Animation in hopes of fulfilling my dreams of being a computer generated animation movie maker. I also have a degree in Corporate Communication from Avila University. I'm currently employed at Nestle Toll House/Haagen-Dazs (at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park), I own my own business -- C & S Productions, L.L.C. (check it out at http://www.csproductionsllc.com), and am single. My favorite time of year is Winter and the Christmas season! It's just so...well, I can't put it into words. ^_^ Lastly, I am 36 years young!
