Silence

I’ve just taken about 10 minutes (maybe more maybe less, I don’t know; I’ve actually lost count) and just sat here in my bedroom in complete and total silence with the only exception being my fan on my computer and the fan on my nightstand behind me. It’s nice! 🙂 I normally am not a fan of silence because it reminds me of tomb and I’m very afraid of death. As I sat here in the silence, I faintly heard a song in my head and enter into my heart as I heard the LORD singing to me.

I will come to you in the silence
I will lift you from all your fear
You will hear My voice
I claim you as My choice
Be still, and know I am near

I am hope for all who are hopeless
I am eyes for all who long to see
In the shadows of the night,
I will be your light
Come and rest in Me

Chorus
Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine

I am strength for all the despairing
Healing for the ones who dwell in shame
All the blind will see, the lame will all run free
And all will know My name

Chorus
Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine

I am the Word that leads all to freedom
I am the peace the world cannot give
I will call your name, embracing all your pain
Stand up, now, walk, and live

Chorus
Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine

You Are Mine by David Haas, 1995.

Normally when I hear this song I hear Daddy singing to me, but for some reason tonight it was our LORD (as was meant to be according to David Haas).

All day today I’ve been on edge and on the verge of tears. No rhyme or reason that I can think of for why this may be. It wasn’t until about 4:30 this afternoon that I totally lost it! I was in the back room at work and just burst into tears. I couldn’t help answering my co-worker when she asked me if I was just wanting to “spend time with the lemonade?” I couldn’t answer right away; I just shook my head no. “I’m just trying not to cry,” I finally said. She looked at me rather puzzled until I finally explained it was just a very hard day and for some reason it seemed like everyone was harping on me. She gave me a hug and then reminded me that “you’re such an awesome and hard worker. I’ve never known you to not be.” I smiled and hugged her. “Thanks, I needed to hear that!” I said and wiped the tears from my face and slowly headed back out front with the lemonade.

Yes, it’s been a very challenging week for many reasons; I won’t get into many of these reasons because it’s not my place and besides which I’ve actually grown from them. I’m proud to say I never gave up and kept looking ahead. I know I stood tall this week and tomorrow is no exception! I will again face a challenge — a nine-hour work day! I can do this! I will do this and through the grace of God I am ready to face the world again. I am making others proud and am stepping up to the challenges that I said I was ready for and I’m not backing down! I am ready again! 🙂

Love and prayers, as always! ❤

About Christy

I enjoy: my family, my faith life, photography, drawing; writing, working on cars, basketball, football, and baseball. These are just a few of the many things I like...you'll just have to read my blog to know me better to know more of them. Other things you may not catch on that I enjoy are: cats, angels, ballroom dancing, Christian music, camping (being one with nature and all of God's creations), traveling, cherry and apple blossoms, and the colors blue (in all shades), white, black, dark purple, and SOME shades of pink. (Rainbows are cool, too. And I'm NOT a lesbian! Although, I'm friends with some gays and lesbians as well as a few transgenders.) I am Roman Catholic. I graduated from Johnson County Community College, where I majored in Animation in hopes of fulfilling my dreams of being a computer generated animation movie maker. I also have a degree in Corporate Communication from Avila University. I'm currently employed at Nestle Toll House/Haagen-Dazs (at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park), I own my own business -- C & S Productions, L.L.C. (check it out at http://www.csproductionsllc.com), and am single. My favorite time of year is Winter and the Christmas season! It's just so...well, I can't put it into words. ^_^ Lastly, I am 35 years young!
