“You’re never lost if you know which general direction you are going.” No truer words were spoken to me. Daddy always had/has the answer for me. A couple of nights ago I dreamt we were taking a family vacation and I was sitting in the front passenger seat with him in the driver’s seat.
I looked out the window and asked him, “We’re lost aren’t we?” I didn’t see anything that looked familiar, which is why I presumed we were in unfamiliar territory. He shook his head and reminded me that as long as we know which general direction we need to head in we’re never lost.
Daddy always told me this when he walked this earth with me, too. Lots of times we would travel to places I’d never been or if there was a detour in the road. I’d become worried and confused. He’d remind me; “We’re (or I’m) not lost. I know exactly where I am and which direction we’re heading.”
So as the road of life is becoming more and more bungle-some and detours pop up unexpectedly, I’m trying to remember those words of Daddy’s: “You’re never really lost if you know which general direction you are going.” 🙂
Love and prayers!
