Went to the endocrinologist appointment this morning. Looking good so far. I have to get some lab work done first (so I guess I’ll do that tomorrow morning with Mom as she has to get lab work done for her doctor, too). I’m still going to look into joining a gym or a fitness center around here. I have mixed feelings about where to go and I’m not exactly opposed to any one in particular; the only thing that I tell myself is that it has to be close (definitely closer than the mall) or I won’t go. I know this for a fact because while I was in college/university I joined a YMCA there and it was only about 5 or 10 minutes away. I stayed for a long time (almost a whole year), but gave it up only after the fact that my roommate stopped going. So definitely distance from the house is important.
I’m also trying hard to convince Mom to join. She wants to lose weight, but thinks that walking alone will help with that. I’m afraid not. I know a lot about losing weight and I know that walking helps but only if you’ve done nothing else up ’til then.
Anyway, I’ll see what I can do. I also know that cost is another factor. I decided that this will be one of my expenses as I currently pay for very little around here and this would in the long run benefit all of us and I don’t mind paying for it.
Anyway, not much else to report until I know the results of my labs that I will do tomorrow. Until then, I’ll do my best to report in when I can and what I can.
