Left Work Early

I left work early today; it was mostly my choice. Mom didn’t think I should stay at work when I was feeling sick; I didn’t think so either, but I really can’t afford to be home sick. My part-time gig at the mall doesn’t pay enough for me to be sick and Plaster Designs can’t write me a check…YET! About 4:30 or so Mom called the store to see if I could come home early because of not feeling well and the weather was turning stormy. I agreed that it wasn’t a good idea for me to stay, but I was afraid that going home sick might be a bad thing as I had just a little over or under an hour to go. Finally, I told Mom I’d talk it over with the manager and my co-workers. We all came to the same solution: I’d leave work early.

I arrived home and dropped my belongings there. Then we (Mom and I) made our way to the nearest Wal*Mart Grocer and bought some medicine for me. I have yet to take any because I know it will make me very sleepy and I can’t do that yet. On our way home, the weather turned nasty. I was driving home in some horrible rain (almost as bad as the other time); I was hoping Mom would talk to me. No dice! She clammed up and refused to say anything. I tried prompting her, but it didn’t work. 😦 I called Steven at one point to see if he’d re-park my car in the carport. Again, no dice! He said, the rain and thunder wouldn’t hurt my car. 😦 I decided to try to re-park it later myself. 😐 About 3 intersections away from home, I saw the traffic light was out. Great (read that sarcastically)! I decided to turn off there and make the rest of the way home on the side streets.

Finally got home and the rain let up to a light rain. I eventually got in and started on my evening routine when the lights and power flickered. More fun times (again, sarcastic here)! The cable went out briefly and I had to restart the TV and cable box for Mom. Then I had to answer a few emails. By this time my stomach started to notice I hadn’t eaten dinner yet.

So I just finished dinner about 10 minutes ago; now I’m here typing this entry and trying not to sneeze on my laptop and to stay awake. Still haven’t taken my medicine, but I will before bed. The rain has started up again and I hear rumblings of thunder outside my bedroom window. I haven’t turned on any music or a fan. The music might hurt my head and the fan might make me cold (I can tell I’m sick when I don’t want either of those things on right now).

I hate being sick, especially since my birthday is only 11 days away! 😥 Hopefully I’ll be much better by Thursday, my next workday. Guess, I’d better sign off and try to get some rest. Oh, yes, I forgot! Thank you all for the prayers the other day. They really helped me get through the day (emotionally). Now, if you don’t mind, please pray for me that I feel better soon! 🙂

Love and prayers!

I enjoy: my family, my faith life, photography, drawing; writing, working on cars, basketball, football, and baseball. These are just a few of the many things I like...you'll just have to read my blog to know me better to know more of them. Other things you may not catch on that I enjoy are: cats, angels, ballroom dancing, Christian music, camping (being one with nature and all of God's creations), traveling, cherry and apple blossoms, and the colors blue (in all shades), white, black, dark purple, and SOME shades of pink.
