Power Restored

Our power was restored late last night (around 11 or 11:30); that means we were running on the generator for about 12 hours. 😯 That’s a long time!

Today was clean up day. I spent the better part of my morning breaking branches into twigs or kindling for our winter fires and sawing up larger pieces for logs for our winter fires. Most of what fell were branches from one of our walnut trees and one of our maple trees.

Steven and I did almost all of the clean up. I say almost all because our neighbor helped Steven bring it into the backyard yesterday and cut up some of the pieces. Today we shared the clean up task and shared jokes, laughter, stories, and just being together. He even brought out an older stereo and we listened to music. It was a great time! I enjoy whatever time I have with him no matter what we’re doing or how short.

Tonight I took a bath and washed my hair; it was only then I discovered I now have a sunburn on both of my upper arms. No wonder I’ve been so warm the rest of the day. :-/

Anyway, I’m wrapping things up and getting ready to play video games for a while. I also know that tomorrow will be an emotional day as I’m going to my mom’s (and my) friend’s wake. 😥 Please pray for her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed (like Daddy, etc.). I also ask you pray for all of us who are left to mourn; it’s not going to be an easy week, but I’m sure with your prayers I’ll be fine. Thanks in advance! 😐

Love and prayers!

About Christy

I enjoy: my family, my faith life, photography, drawing; writing, working on cars, basketball, football, and baseball. These are just a few of the many things I like...you'll just have to read my blog to know me better to know more of them. Other things you may not catch on that I enjoy are: cats, angels, ballroom dancing, Christian music, camping (being one with nature and all of God's creations), traveling, cherry and apple blossoms, and the colors blue (in all shades), white, black, dark purple, and SOME shades of pink. (Rainbows are cool, too. And I'm NOT a lesbian! Although, I'm friends with some gays and lesbians as well as a few transgenders.) I am Roman Catholic. I graduated from Johnson County Community College, where I majored in Animation in hopes of fulfilling my dreams of being a computer generated animation movie maker. I also have a degree in Corporate Communication from Avila University. I'm currently employed at Nestle Toll House/Haagen-Dazs (at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park), I own my own business -- C & S Productions, L.L.C. (check it out at http://www.csproductionsllc.com), and am single. My favorite time of year is Winter and the Christmas season! It's just so...well, I can't put it into words. ^_^ Lastly, I am 36 years young!
