When I need comforting, like today (but for reasons I wish not to post/make known to the public) I turn to food. As I’ve stated multiple times in this blog, I’m a stress eater. There are certain foods that bring me comfort now and certain foods I used to eat when stressed that now make me sick.
Most of the time my comfort foods are things you can buy at a fast food joint (and usually that’s an awesome thing because I don’t like eating when I need comfort). These foods are also (most likely) high in carbohydrates (which I know I should be avoiding), but what are you going to do when you’re stressed? Rhetorical question; I know I should exercise and I know I should find healthier alternatives if I’m going to eat when stressed.
I’m sure by now you’re curious as to know what my comfort foods are. So here we go: buy me anything from Taco Bell (or make me some delicious homemade tacos using my mom’s secret recipe), buy me some Chinese take-out (anything except orange chicken or general tso’s chicken), or a large glass of fruit juice (any kind really, but my favorite is pomegranate juice). There are other things that I used to like that now just make me sick.
For starters: I used enjoy having chocolate anything when I was depressed or needing comfort food (not now; I’ll just get sick to my stomach), baked potatoes (they don’t make me real sick, but they just don’t set good on my tummy), and pasta of any kind (it just makes me feel sick and my blood sugar goes through the roof).
On occasion, you can pick me up some iced herbal tea or pecans. Those things sometimes make me feel better and other times they just make me nauseous.
Anyway, pray to St. Anthony for me and let him intercede on my behalf! Thanks bunches you guys! 🙂
