After working so hard all these years I can finally say, semi-sarcastically, there is a God and I finally get a reward; I do NOT have to work on Thanksgiving evening! I do not have to be at work until Black Friday morning at 7:00. That is isn’t the only reason I am saying, “Yes, Virginia, there is a God and He loves us!”
The reason behind this is I’ve been seeing many signs of God’s love in my life. It’s been a big challenge this year as I’ve seen many bills come in this year and many things I need to learn how to save up for so that one day I can pay them, but yet somehow I still have found God’s love in it all and even more.
I’ve seen God’s love in the new employees I’ve been privileged to work with at Nestle’s. I’ve seen His love in my customers as they purchase cookies and ice cream for their kids or themselves. I’ve seen His love in those who have so little, but give the gift of paying it forward to someone else who might not have had an ice cream treat that day. Others have even said to me, “I’ll pray you have a better day,” when I’ve explained how horrible my day might have been. I’ve also been able to have people listen to me and sympathize with me over the course of the year. I’ve received many hugs from people, seen hugs given in front of our store, and even a great number of people donate dollars for cancer research for children.
Yes, Virginia, there is a God and He loves us! Do we love others as much as God loves us? I challenge us to all learn a bit of love for others as we start in on our busiest shopping season and the season of thanks.
Love and prayers!
