As of last night, it’s official! I am now officially the Ice Cream Inspector at work! I am officially a leader — well, in name at least. Now I need to actually become that leader both at work and at home. What does that mean? For starters that means I cannot slack off any more and cannot let people walk all over me.
What else does it meant to be a leader? I am still learning, but I can tell you I know a lot of what it means I should NOT do. I’ve learned being a leader means I should NOT dictate and never separate myself from the group, whether that group is my family or my co-workers. It also means I should not be overly strict or stern, but I should be firm about my reasons and stick to them. I also cannot let my followers get under my skin by playing games with my emotions or mocking me.
It is time for me to step up. I have to get my head in the game. I have to be the leader I always knew and know I can be. It’s time to make everyone proud to say I’m their leader.
I have plenty of good role models and lots of bad ones, too. Throughout the course of these next few weeks, I’m going to try to focus on some of the good leaders and contrast them with some of the bad ones; I will be doing this both on this blog and in my heart as I seek to become a successful leader!
It’s time! Let’s do this!
Love and prayers!
