Thank You, God, for Mothers

Thank you, God, for mothers! I have been truly blest to have the mommy I do and I am hoping I showed her just how grateful I am today that she is my mommy. 🙂 Steven and I decided to take her to a botanical garden and arboretum that is near (okay like about 10 to 15 minutes from) our house. We spent most of the day there. We arrived sometime after 10:00 am and left some time around 1:00 pm. Then we stopped by home to freshen up a bit before I took her to dinner (we went to an all you can eat buffet). I really wanted some steak, but they were out when I got to the window, so I decided to have ribs, ham, and fish. I also made myself a small taco salad (I probably should have made it larger and just had that for dinner instead). After dinner, I went with Mom to a secondhand store. I actually like buying things from secondhand stores; they’re like going on a treasure hunt — you never know what you’ll find! After that we came home and I gave Mom her present (a Winnie the Pooh t-shirt) and a card. I also ended up still eating a snack even though I shouldn’t have (I’m sure I just gained another pound or two).

Anyway, all I can say is that at least today was a day well-spent and doing things that Mom (or so she says) enjoyed. Isn’t that what it means to really be family (especially when celebrating moms)?

On a side note, I realize I haven’t posted much here lately. I apologize, but things have gotten a bit crazy and I’ll have to return to this blog as well as cleaning my bedroom. There are now more things on my bed (mostly due to almost having a drawer nearly fall on my foot a couple of weeks back now). I sincerely do want to clean this room; it just seems things keep piling up on me.

So anyway, thank you, God, for my mommy and for mommies everywhere. 😀

Alleluia! Jesus is risen! Alleluia! He is risen indeed!

About Christy

I enjoy: my family, my faith life, photography, drawing; writing, working on cars, basketball, football, and baseball. These are just a few of the many things I'll just have to read my blog to know me better to know more of them. Other things you may not catch on that I enjoy are: cats, angels, ballroom dancing, Christian music, camping (being one with nature and all of God's creations), traveling, cherry and apple blossoms, and the colors blue (in all shades), white, black, dark purple, and SOME shades of pink. (Rainbows are cool, too. And I'm NOT a lesbian! Although, I'm friends with some gays and lesbians as well as a few transgenders.) I am Roman Catholic. I graduated from Johnson County Community College, where I majored in Animation in hopes of fulfilling my dreams of being a computer generated animation movie maker. I also have a degree in Corporate Communication from Avila University. I'm currently employed at Nestle Toll House/Haagen-Dazs (at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park), I own my own business -- C & S Productions, L.L.C. (check it out at, and am single. My favorite time of year is Winter and the Christmas season! It's just so...well, I can't put it into words. ^_^ Lastly, I am 36 years young!
