An Extremely Great Day

I don’t even know how to begin this entry except to say I’m still (over 12 hours later) stoked with everything that I learned and accomplished today. Let me back up just a little for those of you who just found this blog or need a quick recap and don’t feel like re-reading previous entries.

Steven (my business partner and brother) and I had a presentation on 3D printing and our company today at our (high school) alma mater and were speaking very early (about 7:20 this morning). The room was on the second floor and we had no idea where to park or what to do, etc. Luckily we arrived the same time as the one who asked us to come. She helped us find exactly where to park and escorted us to her room. The escort involved a ride in an elevator — not exactly my ideal form of transportation, but I had little to no choice it seemed. Okay now you’re caught up!

So we boarded the elevator. I kept walking towards it, not once did I stop or question why or protest. I’m so claustrophobic, but I didn’t want to raise a fuss or cause a scene by asking if I could take the stairs just a few feet from the elevator. No, I actually climbed in and rode it up. I refused to watch the door close behind us, but about 30 seconds later we arrived on the second floor. Not as bad as I thought. The “monster” actually let me out!  It was magical! 😀 First mission accomplished and wonderful thing I learned I could do!

Next came our actual presentation. I thought I did fine, but Steven said I rambled and stumbled over myself. I did apologize to the group, but someone in the group said we were fine. The one who asked us to come was also very impressed and enjoyed it immensely. I’m so glad everyone enjoyed it; now we just have to wait and see what becomes of it. Second mission accomplished and wonderful thing to happen today! 😀

When the mail arrived today, Mom’s Easter present that I ordered off eBay came. I will not say what it is, but I know she will love it! Third mission accomplished and wonderful thing to happen today! 😀

Much later in the day I was laying on Mom’s bed reading my emails and learned I will now have less expensive health insurance! Instead of paying about $500 every month, I will now be paying about $200! Fourth mission accomplished and wonderful thing to happen today! 😀 Also throughout searching my email, I learned of my raise in pay and how thrilled I was to see just how much I’m making now (I’m not sharing that amount, but let’s just say now I have a bargaining chip for any future job offers that pay hourly). Fifth wonderful thing to happen today! 😀

The only downfall to today seems to be I’ve caught a cold, but Mom and I bought some over the counter (OTC) medicine that I hope will help with that. I’m actually half sweating and half freezing right now. 😦 Well, guess I’d better get some sleep to fight off this cold!

God, bless every one of us!

About Christy

I enjoy: my family, my faith life, photography, drawing; writing, working on cars, basketball, football, and baseball. These are just a few of the many things I like...you'll just have to read my blog to know me better to know more of them. Other things you may not catch on that I enjoy are: cats, angels, ballroom dancing, Christian music, camping (being one with nature and all of God's creations), traveling, cherry and apple blossoms, and the colors blue (in all shades), white, black, dark purple, and SOME shades of pink. (Rainbows are cool, too. And I'm NOT a lesbian! Although, I'm friends with some gays and lesbians as well as a few transgenders.) I am Roman Catholic. I graduated from Johnson County Community College, where I majored in Animation in hopes of fulfilling my dreams of being a computer generated animation movie maker. I also have a degree in Corporate Communication from Avila University. I'm currently employed at Nestle Toll House/Haagen-Dazs (at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park), I own my own business -- C & S Productions, L.L.C. (check it out at http://www.csproductionsllc.com), and am single. My favorite time of year is Winter and the Christmas season! It's just so...well, I can't put it into words. ^_^ Lastly, I am 35 years young!
