I’d be amiss not to speak of the riots and uprising in Ukraine. Every where you turn people are talking about it. I went to Mass tonight and even Fr. Mike mentioned it. Not really sure whether I should feel pride or shame for this. Why? Well, those of you who know me in real life you all ready know this; those of you who are just following along and don’t know me in real life, I’m 1/4 Ukrainian. So I’m not really sure whether I should be proud to say I’m Ukrainian or ashamed to say I am. I guess all I can say is it just stands to reason why I said, what’s right isn’t always popular nor is what’s popular always right.
I guess this just leaves me to say it appears to be a blessing that my ancestors’ homeland of Ukraine is finally on the map and no longer do I have to explain where it is. I cannot say where in Ukraine my ancestors were from as I never asked and I regret not asking. Oh well, not much I can do now except do more research on ancestry.com and hope I find it.
God, bless every one of us!
