Tough love. Normally you hear that when referring to a parent who has to punish a juvenile child for something out of love, but I’m about to give you a new meaning to “tough love.”
Tough love in this house usually has to deal with not having Daddy with us and trying to help Mom understand things that she doesn’t or can’t understand. It is very tough to love and show love in this house when, often, roles become reversed — the parent role is played by the child instead of vice-versa.
Anyway, today was hard for me because I thought I had bought some things for someone and (s)he didn’t appreciate it initially. I was told in not so many words that I was trying to make her (him) fat or that we don’t have room for the other gift. Eventually, the gifts were received openly and with love.
Anyway, we don’t just show our love on Valentine’s Day; we show it every day, just Valentine’s Day seems to be when we go over the top and try our best to make sure no one is left out.
My blessing today was actually at work. I still had one customer that made the last part of my day miserable. On the flip side, I was very happy to see one of my co-workers today. He is just a sweetheart and to see him on Valentine’s Day just made me even happier. I will call him “Frederick.” Frederick is just the most adorable person that I have worked with to date and he just knows how to make people smile. 🙂 He even has the prettiest eyes of any male I have ever seen (aside from Steven who has the sexiest eyelashes in my opinion).
Well, I’d better be signing off as I do have to go to work tomorrow and I’m quite tired. So, good night and Happy Valentine’s Day!
God, bless every one of us!
