Staying Warm

Another arctic blast hit last night, and thankfully didn’t knock any power out here! 😀 I am happy about that. I’m also happy to report I’m still able to stay warm. I still have a roof over my head and a family to come home to after work.

My blessings today are just those three: no power outage, a roof over my head, and a loving family to come home to after work. 🙂 It sounds crazy, but you don’t understand how blessed I feel! I could easily have lost power with all the high winds (I later learned near my house the wind speed got up to around 40 mph)! I also am very blessed to still have a roof over my head. Why? Not everyone is this lucky. I don’t want to ever think I could wind up on the streets. And I still have a family (a loving family at that) to come home to after work. I know not everyone comes home to a family. Some people come home to an empty apartment or house and no one to talk to or welcome them home with a hug. Some even come home (sadly) to an abusive partner or family. 😦 I am fortunate that Steven and Mom still are here for me and love me very much (despite all my shortcomings).

Sorry for another short entry, but I’m getting a sinus headache and should get some sleep.

God, bless every one of us!

About Christy

I enjoy: my family, my faith life, photography, drawing; writing, working on cars, basketball, football, and baseball. These are just a few of the many things I like...you'll just have to read my blog to know me better to know more of them. Other things you may not catch on that I enjoy are: cats, angels, ballroom dancing, Christian music, camping (being one with nature and all of God's creations), traveling, cherry and apple blossoms, and the colors blue (in all shades), white, black, dark purple, and SOME shades of pink. (Rainbows are cool, too. And I'm NOT a lesbian! Although, I'm friends with some gays and lesbians as well as a few transgenders.) I am Roman Catholic. I graduated from Johnson County Community College, where I majored in Animation in hopes of fulfilling my dreams of being a computer generated animation movie maker. I also have a degree in Corporate Communication from Avila University. I'm currently employed at Nestle Toll House/Haagen-Dazs (at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park), I own my own business -- C & S Productions, L.L.C. (check it out at http://www.csproductionsllc.com), and am single. My favorite time of year is Winter and the Christmas season! It's just so...well, I can't put it into words. ^_^ Lastly, I am 35 years young!
