“…[S]he should be a manager!” only part of what a customer said to my manager Catherine at Nestle’s today. It was a very slow day at work and I was doing my job more than I normally do; I mean I gave probably 120+% at work for once today. So while waiting on this customer I could see she was struggling to see into the cabinet some of the cookies. She also wondered what was on the cooling racks behind the cabinet. We’re not really supposed to give those cookies out first because we should sell all the cookies in the cabinet first and the other cookies get hard if we don’t sell them first. Anyway, it was so slow that I actually decided to tell the customer every last thing that was back there. Then she asked me to find the softest cookies available. Well, I ended up flipping every last basic cookie of her choosing (mostly peanut butter and oatmeal). That was almost 20 some cookies, but I painstakingly (because my carpal tunnel was acting up today) flipped every last one. All in all she ended up purchasing 1/2 dozen cookies and filling out a Comment Card as well as telling my manager how happy she was that I took the time and had the patience to wait that long and wait on her. I never rushed her or took my eyes off her; she had my undivided attention and I was determined her visit would be a pleasant one. I do hope she returns because she was definitely one of my favorite customers AND my blessing for today!
God bless every one of us (especially that customer today)!
