Back to Work

Well, after being gone for a week, I’m heading back to work. I enjoyed my “vacation” of sorts towards the end, but mostly I was sick and unable to enjoy much of anything. Today I’m working about 4 hours (from approximately 2pm to 6pm). It won’t be too bad I’m sure, but the hardest part is going to be standing for that long. I can walk fine and do all right, but trying to stand for 4 hours is going to be very brutal on my knees. They all ready hurt and I haven’t done much yet. I guess I’ll load up on pain meds (as long as those don’t interact negatively with my antibiotics) and hope for the best.

I missed the magic and fun while I was away. I missed the young princesses and princes as they’d come in the store. I missed smiles and wonder and awe as everyone took in the sights and sounds of our store. I missed some of my fellow cast members’ antics and jokes. I missed a lot!

The downfall I have to this is now that I’m back there’s only 25 days left ’til the dreaded day. I really don’t like it and not much I can do about it either. If only I didn’t have to work retail, I could enjoy it more and look forward to Christmas more.

Anyway, back to work I go and I’ll be writing more in the next few days and weeks ahead as this seems to help me cope with all the stress surrounding the weeks and days until Christmas (as you’ve guess by now from reading my blog so much these past years).

God, bless us (especially me as I return to work today) — everyone!

About Christy

I enjoy: my family, my faith life, photography, drawing; writing, working on cars, basketball, football, and baseball. These are just a few of the many things I like...you'll just have to read my blog to know me better to know more of them. Other things you may not catch on that I enjoy are: cats, angels, ballroom dancing, Christian music, camping (being one with nature and all of God's creations), traveling, cherry and apple blossoms, and the colors blue (in all shades), white, black, dark purple, and SOME shades of pink. (Rainbows are cool, too. And I'm NOT a lesbian! Although, I'm friends with some gays and lesbians as well as a few transgenders.) I am Roman Catholic. I graduated from Johnson County Community College, where I majored in Animation in hopes of fulfilling my dreams of being a computer generated animation movie maker. I also have a degree in Corporate Communication from Avila University. I'm currently employed at Nestle Toll House/Haagen-Dazs (at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park), I own my own business -- C & S Productions, L.L.C. (check it out at http://www.csproductionsllc.com), and am single. My favorite time of year is Winter and the Christmas season! It's just so...well, I can't put it into words. ^_^ Lastly, I am 36 years young!
