Happy (Chinese) New Year! It’s the year of the snake, too. Snakes, why did it have to be snakes!? If there is any animal I hate more than any other it’s a snake. I just am not fond of them in the slightest. Steven and Mom know that first hand.
During our stay-cation trip to the Kansas City Zoo, one of the attractions was the Reptile House/Room. I barely entered that room. There were lizards and snakes of all kinds. I looked at some of the lizards, and they were okay. When I came to one cage, I peaked in and saw nothing. “That’s silly! There’s nothing in here,” I said. Steven came over and burst my bubble. “No? Then what do you call that?” He pointed to a corner and I nearly screamed. A snake (more appropriately a baby boa) stared back at me. I ran to the door and just about left, but stopped. “I’ll wait here.”
So I’ll just end here by saying happy new year to all my Chinese friends, followers, and colleagues.
God, bless us — everyone!
