Let me start by saying, I did NOT make it to the Mass this morning. I apologize for that. I really wanted to go myself, but Mom and I made the decision not to go based on the fact that it would be very crowded. Mom is not necessarily claustrophobic like me, but I think crowds do have a negative affect on her. I am not only claustrophobic with elevators, but with large crowds as well. I figure we can try again next year and if all works out as I plan, then we’ll have no trouble going at all. 🙂 Anyway let’s get on with this post.
So today is the day, or in some (arch)dioceses Holy Thursday morning, that as many priests that can come together for a Mass. At this Mass the (arch)bishop blesses the holy oils that will be used in Confirmations, Baptisms, and Anointing of the Sick in the upcoming year. Also during this Mass, priests that are present will renew their priestly vows they made at their ordination.
If anything else happens, I wouldn’t know since I haven’t been able to go to one as of yet. Anyway, that seems to be the gist of it from what I can gather online and from priest friends.
Tomorrow, I will write about what I’ve just learned about this year: Spy Wednesday.
