My First Few Days Without Facebook

Well, today is the fourth day without Facebook. I was doing great until I was ready to come home from work. I pulled out my cell/mobile phone to call home and I saw a Facebook alert. I had/have one invite! I was happy! Someone cares about me to invite me to something! Yay! I wanted so badly to press on it and see what it was/is and who it’s from, but I resisted that temptation. No, I gave up Facebook for all of Lent — not just for the weekdays, but ALL of Lent. I hit “clear alerts” on my phone instead. I tell you I was more than a little curious, but I know that it will be well worth it come Easter Sunday.

I also wanted to tag someone in a photo that I took this past week and post it to my Facebook page, but again I resisted the temptation. It’s been tempting and I know it’s only going to be harder has Lent presses on, but I can do this!

How is your Lenten journey going? I hope my journey will be better than my New Year’s resolutions I can say that much!

It’s nice to know Jesus too was tempted. I know He can help me overcome my temptations because He overcame His (which were far greater than any I will ever have to overcome)! Jesus will help you, too. All we have to do is ask.

God bless!

About Christy

I enjoy: my family, my faith life, photography, drawing; writing, working on cars, basketball, football, and baseball. These are just a few of the many things I like...you'll just have to read my blog to know me better to know more of them. Other things you may not catch on that I enjoy are: cats, angels, ballroom dancing, Christian music, camping (being one with nature and all of God's creations), traveling, cherry and apple blossoms, and the colors blue (in all shades), white, black, dark purple, and SOME shades of pink. (Rainbows are cool, too. And I'm NOT a lesbian! Although, I'm friends with some gays and lesbians as well as a few transgenders.) I am Roman Catholic. I graduated from Johnson County Community College, where I majored in Animation in hopes of fulfilling my dreams of being a computer generated animation movie maker. I also have a degree in Corporate Communication from Avila University. I'm currently employed at Nestle Toll House/Haagen-Dazs (at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park), I own my own business -- C & S Productions, L.L.C. (check it out at http://www.csproductionsllc.com), and am single. My favorite time of year is Winter and the Christmas season! It's just so...well, I can't put it into words. ^_^ Lastly, I am 35 years young!
