Girls Night Out Update

Here’s an update/follow-up to our girls night out! Yesterday, I stated that we didn’t get an autograph or photograph of Charles Shaughnessy, but that changed. I drove to the theatre (it’s only about 15 minutes from our house) and talked with the box office people. It was amazing because the woman who sold me the tickets was one of the women at the box office. Anyway, they said to come back by after the current show (around 3:30 pm or 15:30) and drive by the “Stage Door” because “sometimes they come out and sometimes they don’t.” I said, “Well, at least it’s a try!” They agreed. So I went back out to my car, but not before taking a photograph of the outside theatre.

“Well, if all else fails,” I told myself as I headed back to the car. “at least I have this photograph and my T-shirt. Also I sort of got to meet him when I was on stage.” I went back to my car and told Mom we could come back and hopefully meet Charles. So we went for a walk around the mall, a painful walk for her but a walk nonetheless. We then went home and informed Steven that we’d have to come back. So we watched TV (some DVR recordings) and then headed back around 3:20 (15:20) to wait and see if Charles would come out to meet us.

So we waited. And waited. Finally at about 20 to 30 minutes passed and the stage door opened. Mom and I eagerly peeked in anticipation. “Yes!” I thought. “It’s him!” The security guard even looked, too (of course). The door closed again. “Shall we go?” I asked Mom. “If you want to.” Of course I wanted to. So we slowly made our way to the door, probably because we were a bit nervous, but also because we didn’t know what to expect. The lady we were waiting with didn’t go in right away though. I still don’t know why. Anyway, we made our way in and we saw Charles surrounded by other fans, but not too many, so we waited patiently.

Finally, he turned and faced me. “Do you remember me?” I asked nervously. “I’m the cookie cake decorator!” He smiled. Of course he remembered me. I told him my name again and then I got a co-star to take Mom’s and my photograph with Charles.

A dream come true: a meeting with Charles Shaughnessy!

So there you have it! We finally got it and we also were able to get an autograph — or three! —  (albeit I had to come back to get the T-shirt and programs because I left them at home and returned with them and came again).

Thanks for a memorable weekend, Charles! Thank you, God, for helping make this possible! (Oh and Charles does have a WordPress account, too!)

God bless!

These are just a few of the many things I like...you'll just have to read my blog to know me better to know more of them. Other things you may not catch on that I enjoy are: cats, angels, ballroom dancing, Christian music, camping (being one with nature and all of God's creations), traveling, cherry and apple blossoms, and the colors blue (in all shades), white, black, dark purple, and SOME shades of pink. (Rainbows are cool, too. And I'm NOT a lesbian! Although, I'm friends with some gays and lesbians as well as a few transgenders.) I am Roman Catholic. I graduated from Johnson County Community College, where I majored in Animation in hopes of fulfilling my dreams of being a computer generated animation movie maker. I also have a degree in Corporate Communication from Avila University. I'm currently employed at Nestle Toll House/Haagen-Dazs (at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park), I own my own business -- C & S Productions, L.L.C.
