On the first of every month, when I was in grade school, there was a tradition that started when I was in first grade. (Lots of firsts here! 😉 ) The tradition is that on the first of every month try to say “White rabbit!” to as many people as you can. If you do before the other person both you and that person will have good luck for that entire month. However, if the other person says it first you cannot wish them a “White rabbit!” day because that would bring you bad luck. I don’t understand the whole concept, but that’s the general idea.
So for as long as I can remember now, my family and I are always quick to wish each other a “White rabbit!” on the first of every month. Call me superstitious if you want, but it does seem to have some sort of effect. A couple of months ago, and this has happened several times in fact, my mom forgot to wish Steven and me a “White rabbit!” day and our entire month went horribly! I think Steven got sick and I became overworked and was out of control with my diet and my blood glucose/sugar went crazy! The next month, when the first rolled around again, she remembered and things went swimmingly! 🙂 I don’t understand it, but some how or other it seems to make all the difference in the world.
So while you’re out there at work, play, or wherever you are, don’t forget to wish someone a “White rabbit!” day and who knows maybe you’ll have good luck this month!
